Nora Wilcox

Office Manager

My name is Nora Wilcox and I grew up a 4-H horse girl on Martha’s Vineyard, living and breathing horses until going away to college.  Away from the horse world for 25+ years, I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from UMass Amherst, was awarded an MV Vision Fellowship and completed my Masters in Social Work from the University of Chicago.  I pursued my interest in serving the most vulnerable in the communities where I lived, running programs to house people experiencing homelessness who were living on the streets or in shelters, both in NYC and Providence, RI.  After starting a family, I moved back to Marthas’ Vineyard to raise my children closer to nature.  I learned of Misty Meadows at an event I went to with my children to meet the horses on the farm.  I bring to my work at Misty Meadows as Office Manager, years of non-profit office experience, commitment to changing peoples lives through access to supportive programs, and my belief in the power of strength and resilience.  A lifelong animal lover, with powerful formative work experience early in life riding and caring for horses, I am passionate about working for an organization that has horses at the forefront of changing peoples lives for the better.
