Ally Reed

Horse Care Assistant, PATH International Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning, HERD Institute Facilitator

“ Everyone shines given the right lighting.”

Ally found her way to Misty in May 2021, originally to dust off her own riding skills, and then to stay on as a volunteer to help support the Misty summer camp.

Volunteering at camp led to additional training to be a horse handler for the fall recreational and therapeutic riding classes. Since then Ally has joined the horsecare team staff, participated in Mounted archery classes and started the process of working towards her PATH CTRI (Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor) certification. Recently, Ally completed a PATH workshop for equine specialists in mental health and learning and will soon be attending a Masterson Method horse massage clinic for therapeutic riding horses. For Ally, one of the most rewarding aspects of being part of the Misty community is sharing what she’s learned with new volunteers and participants, along with what she has come to understand, is the magic of Misty.

Ally is deeply committed to the Misty message that lives can be changed one horse experience at a time.
