Martha is originally from Ohio where she attended Denison University, graduating in 1982 with a degree in English and Computer Science before moving to New York in 1983. She spent 16 years at Citibank before leaving in 1999 to spend more time with her growing family. She continued to work in finance as a part-time consultant with a focus in Risk Management and Technology from 2000-2010. During that time, she also volunteered and served on the Board of Pegasus Therapeutic Riding in Brewster, New York, which introduced her to the power of equine-assisted learning programs and the benefits they provide. A long-time seasonal resident of Martha’s Vineyard, she and her family moved here full time in 2015. She is an active member of the Board of Friends of Sengekontacket, drives and delivers for the Island Food Pantry and spends her fall evenings working the weigh station for the MV Striped Bass and Bluefish Derby. When not hanging with the herd at Misty Meadows, she spends her free time exploring the island on both land and sea and is an avid fisherperson, loves to shellfish and hike with her 3 dogs.
