Morgan Hodgson
Secretary, Governance Chair
Morgan retired to the Vineyard after a career as an attorney in private practice in Washington, DC and decades of summers in Menemsha. She now lives year-round in Aquinnah with her husband Bill Lake, along with dogs, chickens and seasonally with five adult children and their families. Morgan grew up with ponies and horses and first learned of equine assisted learning when her mother co-founded Pegasus Therapeutic Riding in Darien, CT in 1975. Morgan began volunteering at Misty in 2021 as a horse leader. Since then she has joined Misty’s adult lesson program and helps out around the barn whenever she can. Her most special Misty moments are with the therapeutic riding program and quiet time spent with the four-legged staff.
Morgan’s other island volunteer work includes the Steering Committee for the Coalition to Create a Martha’s Vineyard Housing Bank, as a Board member on the Aquinnah Community Association, and as a member of Aquinnah’s Community Emergency Response Team.
